45-minute workshop

Run of show for a live room. Same curriculum as the self-serve lab. You talk less than you think.

  1. 0–5

    Overview

Put the four surfaces on the wall. Ask: “What are you trying to hold when this is done?” Do not demo yet. The room will try to start in Chat. Let that hang.

  2. 5–30

    Pairs on two surfaces

Half the room does Chat → Cowork (messy spec, then a folder). Half does Code → Chrome (failing test, then localhost). Swap artifacts, not seats. You walk. You do not drive.

  3. 30–40

    Connect task

Whole room: ship Flappy Bird across four surfaces. They write the four prompts first. If a prompt does not name an output, send it back.

  4. 40–45

    Which-surface drill

Three scenarios, cold. They answer on paper before you show the lab checks. Collect the misses. That list is your next office hours.

Common misses

Chat for the game spec-and-build in one window
They know Chat. Name the repo they would have to paste into.
Code for the README after the PR is open
The game already runs. The remaining output is a document.
Chrome without a URL
No live page, no Chrome. Send them back to the map.
Skip mode on anything that sends as you
Stop the room. Safety is part of the skill, not a footnote.

Self-serve versus the room

Self-serve keeps the voice walkthrough and the checks. Live workshop uses their real tools if they have paid seats. If they do not, stay on the lab — do not make half the room spectators. Your job in the room is the misses, not the clicks.
